Many travelers have written to ‘Buenos Días, Madrid’ complaining about the eternal waits, the continuous delays, the crowds, the daily queues with no end in sight. They claim to be desperate in the face of a situation that is repeated day after day.

Arrival and departure times are usually delayed by at least half an hour, but sometimes the wait is longer. The company claims that the delays are due to traffic accidents or weather conditions, but users deny these causes: «They say it is due to traffic jams, accidents, but that is not real because when we go there we see the opposite direction and that the road goes smoothly».

If on your tourist trip to Madrid you have time to make some excursions in the surroundings, from my point of view the main places you should consider are Toledo, Segovia and the Monastery of El Escorial.

So, I will tell you that both on weekdays and holidays, in normal conditions you have trains from Madrid to Toledo with a frequency of every hour, although during the current pandemic situation the frequencies have been reduced.

Finally, if instead of going to Toledo on your own you prefer to join an excursion from Madrid in an organized group with a specialized guide, you can join the complete tour of Toledo in one day.

This tour lasts eight hours, and during it you will visit the highlights of the city, including a visit to the interior of the cathedral of Toledo and the mosque of Cristo de la Luz.
